Reuse of household items can be fun, cost effective, and can be another’s person’s treasure.
Many everyday household items can be used in other ways other than what they were originally intended for. For instance, have an out-of-date table, turn the top into a docorative piece of artwork by simply removing the legs and hardware, add paint and texture to the top, and hang on a wall. Take the couch you have had from your college days and have it reupholstered with modern fabrics and let the kids enjoy it in their play room. Transform lamp shades into waste baskets, decorative shelf art, or add some fabric, and beading and continue to use them as shades. Picture frames can be painted different colors to save money and landfills.
Have left over wrapping paper, toilet paper rolls, bottles, pots and pans, or boxes and let the kids use their imaginations. These simple household items can be turned into play toys for the kids creating hours of fun and saving your wallet.
